WALLPAPER by BENEDICT MORGAN

Benedict Morgan had the idea for his ‘Wallpaper’ series some time before actually executing it. When camouflaging an object the shape and outlines must be retained in order for the viewer to recognize it, otherwise it would just simply blend in with the background and disappear. In order to avoid the object disappearing London based photographer Morgan, mainly worked with very iconic items, creating perfectly camouflaged objects that still come across as what they are. The lighting is another very important element in creating a more or less visible invisible object. Only the lighting and a resulting shadow can give the object shape and form.

Sometimes after a long staring contest with a great piece of art, you might feel a little exhausted, maybe even start seeing things. Zack Dougherty‘s latest project doubles down on this idea by featuring a clever collection of manipulated, hypnotizing GIFs. The Portland-based digital artist takes a simple sculpture and turns it into eternally repeating images, transforming pristine busts into psychedelic moving pictures. These switch so rapidly that eye and brain need some time to grasp the lightning evolution of the picture. But when one fathoms this sequences the deed is done: he is witness of a captivating ode to art history.

1972 by NORITAKA MINAMI

In the city of Tokyo, a building stands as an anachronism in relation to the surrounding landscape. The building in question is the Nakagin Capsule Tower designed by Kisho Kurokawa (1934 – 2007), one of the leading members of an experimental architectural movement in the 1960s called Metabolism. This prototype for life in the 21st Century ultimately proved to be an exception rather than the rule, as the first capsule tower became the last completed in the world. Today, the building faces the threat of demolition to make way for a conventional apartment complex. This photographic series captures the building as it faces an uncertain fate.Noritaka Minami’s work ’1972′ is a ongoing project and a response to the building’s potential disappearance as a tangible piece of cultural memory in Tokyo. The camera engages this singular presence within a city and explores the implications this vision of the future from the past holds for contemporary society.

Dusty Springfield - Spooky

In the cool of the evening
When everything is gettin kind of groovy
You call me up and ask me
Would I like to go with you and see a movie
First I say no, I've got some plans for the night
And then I stop, and say, all right
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little boy like you

You always keep me guessin
I never seem to know what you are thinkin
And if a girl looks at you
It's for sure your little eye will be a-winkin
I get confused, cause I don't know where I stand
And then you smile, and hold my hand
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little boy like you
Spooky

If you decide someday to stop this little game that you are playin
I'm gonna tell you all the things my heart's been a-dyin to be sayin
Just like a ghost, you've been a-hauntin my dreams
So now i know, you're not what you seem
Love is kinda crazy with a spooky little boy like you
