Bingo, originally an Italian lotto-like game, has been quite popular in the US since the early 1900s. Meanwhile Bingo is played all over the US – from small curch basements to huge halls that seat thousands. But it’s not all about winning. Since a lot of people seem to like playing Bingo, it’s a great opportunity to socially interact with other people. Although some appear to be quite satisfied, happy and looking forward to the next round of Bingo, other characteres portraied in Andrew Miksys’ pictures seem very quiet, lonley and lost in thought. His portraits almost have a dark and gloomy feel to them, leaving it to the viewer of his images wether anyone is happy at all.
